Wyatt Carruthers Jebb attended the site and inspections were made from a MEWP to establish the scope of works required.
A fire broke out in a top floor flat and very quickly spread across the roof with some burning debris affecting the lower floors as it fell. The fire brigade attended the site, but could not douse the fire until a majority of the roof and 2nd floor flats were completely destroyed.
Wyatt Carruthers Jebb were subsequently instructed to proceed with the specification, tender documentation and subsequent Contract Administration of the remediation works through to completion.
During the course of the works we were commissioned to make regular inspections of the site and assess the progress of the structural works during the early parts of the contract. This was particularly important with regard to the roof as we had a number of walls which were exposed and required delicate treatment and propping prior to the erection of the roof which would then provide them with full stability.
This work proceeded without serious incident and the structural works were completed to time and budget.
